"OUR ADVERTISING ACTIVITY IS ALIGNED WITH THAT OF OUR USERS

Since arriving in Spain, Diego Oliva, Facebook's sales manager for Southern Europe, has not stopped. This time, MarketingDirecto's camera captured him at the conference "Social networks, an effective space for your brand?" organized by MPG .

The first thing Oliva did on this occasion was to explain the different possibilities that Facebook offers with its engagement ads . Through pages, videos, events, surveys, gifts, advertisers can reach the desired audience in the best possible way. “We reach the audience based on the target, we amplify through the users’ networks of friends, we get to know them through tracking systems and we connect with them through pages where they interact with brands,” explains Oliva.

The director thus makes it clear that the advertising experience architect data offered by Facebook “is aligned with the user’s activity, they are involved in the conversation and invited to share it.” Oliva does not believe that any of this is new, “it’s just that we now have the technological possibility that we have never had before to do it this way.” What the world’s largest social network does is provide “the tools for you to understand them, for them to give their opinion on your products and help you improve as an advertiser.”

Oliva did not want to talk about figures. Regarding the percentage of users who do not like advertising, the executive only said that the platform is focused on users, who are the most important thing and that without them "Facebook is nothing." And regarding business figures, he only pointed out that in its last financial year the EBITDA has been positive and that it is one of the few companies, in terms of advertising, that is currently expanding and hiring people.
