Meanwhile, at a private event in Cologne on the eve of DMEXCO, Kolsquare partnered with content creation platform Takle to reveal the results of an experiment that tested how different platforms (YouTube Shorts, Instagram and TikTok) react to consistently unoriginal video content.
The experiment consisted of creating an influencer and buying followers on Instagram and TikTok to see to what extent reaching a critical mass of followers allows an account to grow organically.
“This experiment reveals the key differences between the channels,” says Philipp Greulich, Managing Director of Kolsquare in DACH . “TikTok is for entertainment, content drives engagement, it drives organic growth. And Instagram is a social network. It’s for communication, inspiration, talking to friends and family. Because we didn’t do that – we just created content – it didn’t gain traction at all.”
