What is Multi-Channel?

Post by ishanijerin1 »

Multichannel means that a company or store operates several different sales channels to serve its customers .

Although a company has both an e-commerce website and a physical store as sales channels, the characteristic of a multi-channel company is that they are independent and not linked together .

For example, it is easy to understand that multi-channel means that coupons for the e-commerce site can be used on the e-commerce site, and coupons for the physical madagascar email address store can be used in physical stores, and omni-channel means that coupons for the same store can be used both in physical stores and on the e-commerce site.

The benefit of multi-channel is simply that it increases sales opportunities.

On the other hand, the information and inventory for each channel must be managed separately, which requires extra labor and costs, which can be a disadvantage.

What is Cross-Channel?
Cross-channel is a sales strategy that aims to provide customers with a consistent experience by linking physical stores and e-commerce sites .

It has been adopted by many companies and stores because it can increase sales opportunities more than multi-channel methods.

The difference with omni-channel is whether there are only two channels, a physical store and an e-commerce site (cross-channel), or whether in addition to a physical store and an e-commerce site, other media such as social media and owned media are also used (omni-channel).

It may be easier to understand if you think of cross-channel as an advanced version of multi-channel, and omni-channel as an even further advanced version of multi-channel.
